My name is Dawn and I am a current teacher in a Secondary School (on maternity leave and no pay leave) as well as a private Mathematics tutor in Singapore who enjoys teaching and also spending time at home with my children. So what better job can I ask for?
Personally, I believe that it is possible for every student to score a distinction in Mathematics and I will definitely do every bit I can to help your child to attain that.
For those of you who might be interested to hire a private tutor for Secondary Mathematics or know of someone who might need Math Tuition, here are my credentials..
Basically, I have 5 years of teaching experience in 2 different Secondary Schools. I have taught students from all levels (Sec 1 to 4) as well as students from all streams (Normal Tech, Normal Acad and Express). So, I specialise in teaching Lower Secondary Mathematics and Upper Secondary Mathematics (including Additional Mathematics)
I have certificates in O Level, A Level, Bachelor of Science (majoring in Mathematics) as well as a Postgraduate diploma in Education (Secondary). In 1999, I was given the MOE Teaching Award.
My rates are $50 / hr (if lessons are within the scheduled timings) and $60/hr (if lessons held outside scheduled timings)
Here's my schedule:
Mon - Fri : 3- 5pm (Sec 1/2) and 5-7pm (Sec 3/4)
Sat : 10am-12noon (Sec 3/4) ; 2-4pm (Sec 1/2) and 4-6pm (Sec 3/4)
My tuition class is exclusive to a maximum of 6 students.
For each tuition session, I will be going through:
-problematic questions that the child might have in school
-exploring certain chapters using the computer
-cover one selected topic per session
-give out special formulated worksheets created by me from my experience in teaching Mathematics but also from a wide plethora of Singapore schools papers.
And moreover, drinks and light snacks will be provided.
For the first time when I teach your children, I will be giving them a mock test to assess their abilities so that I would know how to tune my worksheets according to their standard.
So, do not worry as your child will be in good and safe hands as I help them attain their goals in scoring for Mathematics.
